About me

Hello everyone! My name is Joe Salinas. I am a 23-year-old full-time banker and part time college student from Los Angeles, born and raised. During the day I work at a bank as a banker, helping clients with consumer banking needs. After work I am pursuing my bachelor’s degree in computer information technology. My father used to own his own electronic repair shop, and I would come to work with him after school and during summers when I was younger. That really sparked my interest in technology as I was surrounded by it at a young age. I would eventually go on to help him with his repairs and do some on my own. My interest in video games also helped as I would go on to build multiple computers by myself. I never had really thought about pursuing a career in technology, even though I was surrounded by it my entire life. What pushed me to pursue my degree was something my father had told me. He inspired me to find out what I wanted to do with the rest of my life and to pursue a career in something I know I would enjoy. What I hope to achieve from TEC101 is a deeper understanding of technology and learn basics that will help me in my future courses and eventual career.
